Victoria Bike Map
Whimsy Bike is a free bike map and route planner for Victoria, BC and Greater Victoria. It shows protected and painted bike lanes, traffic-calmed streets and trails, and plans comfortable routes on your device. The map needs JavaScript.
Comfortable routes, not just fast ones
Big map apps send riders down a painted lane on a busy road to save a minute or two. Whimsy Bike looks for the protected lane, the paved trail or the quiet street a block over: its default route is the quickest one that stays comfortable. It counts hills, turns across traffic, waits at lights and stop signs, construction closures, unlit paths after dark, rain on unpaved trails and wind on the waterfront.
Plan for an acoustic bike, an e-bike or Bike Share. Whimsy Bike finds bike parking at your destination, searches addresses, businesses and places, and shows the weather for your ride. There's no account, and your location stays on your device. Routes are suggestions: follow signs, traffic laws and your own judgment.
